Course DescriptionThe main objective of this course is to provide an in-depth knowledge of database management systems design. Topics covered at length are concurrency control including concurrency on structured data, recovery and query optimization. Some important aspects of distributed databases are discussed, including distributed concurrency control and fault tolerance.
